About the Experience
This evening foodie tour introduces guests to the everyday dining culture of Osaka.
Begin with a walk through Tenma’s narrow streets and part of Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, the longest covered shopping arcade in Japan. Learn about the neighbourhood’s history and local dining customs before visiting two or three eateries.
Stops often include tachinomi, standing-style restaurants that are central to Osaka’s casual food culture. Sample freshly prepared dishes, from familiar Osaka favourites to lesser-known regional specialities, in a relaxed, informal setting.
The experience combines approximately 1.5 hours of walking and exploration with 1.5 hours of eating and drinking.
An optional wagyu upgrade is also available upon advance request.
Itinerary
Meet your guide in your hotel lobby in Osaka at approximately 17:30.
Travel by taxi to the starting point and learn about Tenma’s history, neighbourhood layout and local dining customs.
Walk through narrow streets and part of Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street.
Discover the atmosphere of a neighbourhood that attracts relatively few international visitors.
Visit approximately two or three local eateries, often including standing-style restaurants.
Share a variety of small dishes, enjoy freshly prepared food and experience Osaka’s casual dining culture.
Each stop generally lasts around 30 minutes.
Guests can add a serving of wagyu beef, known for its tenderness and rich marbling.
The optional restaurant visit also introduces guests to Tosa cuisine and regional Japanese flavours.
