Experience meditation in Kamakura, a city where the practice of zazen flourished among samurai warriors during the 12th and 13th centuries.

This serene session, set in the forested calm of Kamakura, invites you to sit for a 40-minute zazen meditation and feel the gentle breeze filtering through the trees.

Beginners are warmly welcome, and chairs are available upon request for added comfort.

After the session, enjoy a thoughtfully prepared lunch box and take the opportunity to chat with the resident priest—feel free to ask anything about the practice of zazen.

Kenchoji is a historic Zen Buddhist temple located in Kamakura, Kanagawa, Japan.

It is the oldest Zen training monastery in Japan, founded in 1253 by the Chinese Zen master Rankei Doryu, under the patronage of the regent Hojo Tokiyori.
